In the previous issue, we introduced a number of well-known fastener distribution companies around the world. Careful industry readers will notice that companies mostly come from Europe. In fact, the European fastener industry chain is highly mature and has a strong distribution system, and the force that supports the collaboration between distribution companies, standard unification, and maintains industry interests is the professional fastener distributor association in each country.In this issue, we have collected the European Fastener Distributor Association and theener distributor associations of major countries to help Chinese fastener companies understand the market structure and industry organization ecology in Europe.European Fastener Distributor Association (EFDA)Europeanener Distributor AssociationThe European Fastener Distributor Association (EFDA) is an industry association representing the interests of fastener distributors in the European region. The predecessor organization established in the 1980s, and the current association structure was formed around 2000. Its purpose is to provide a platform for European fastener distributors promote information exchange, cooperation, and the improvement of industry standards.

EFDA membership comprises the national fastener distributors’ associations from Germany (FDS), UK & Ireland (BIAFD), Italy (UDIB, France (PRISME-FIX), The Netherlands (NEVIB), and Spain (ADEFI). In addition, via its Corporate Membership Mechanism (MDA), EFDA also embraces fastener companies from other European countries, such as Bufab from Sweden, Facil from Belgium, and distributors from Finland, Romania,, Poland and a number of other countries.

Among the members who joined the EFDA as corporate entities, in addition to the well-known Bufab company, Belgium's Fac also established a branch company in mainland China - Forstar Fasteners (Changshu) Co., Ltd., located in Meili Town, Changshu City,iangsu Province, which was established on December 21, 2012, and added a branch in Chongqing in December 2018.In addition, the EFDA also provides various support services for its members, such as industry information, business cooperation opportunities, and guidance on standard compliance, etc. The EFDA aims enhance the competitiveness of European fastener distributors and promote the sustainable development of the entire industry through these measures.On the afternoon of March 25, 2025 German time, Mr. Shen Jiahua, President of the Hardware and Fastener Sub-division of the China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals and Chemicals Import Export (CCCMEA), and Mr. Yang Junfeng, Executive President, held a meeting with Mr. Alex, Secretary-General of the European Fastener Dist Association (EFDA), in Stuttgart, Germany.
